Walking towards Buku, I was excited about how the whole scene looked. The Crescent City Bridge on the left, a huge purple sign that states, Blaine Kern Mardi Gras World and the fresh water smells of the Mississippi River. What I didn't anticipate was how much FUN I was going partake in.  The Buku Music and Art Project is a two day, three stage festival that promotes all things Molly. On the first day, I worked for Nola Wrap Up, interviewing The Coyotes, Lettuce, Best Coast, and Break Science.  With our bellies full from craft services and our drinks tipped off by Tito's Vodka we enjoyed the first night of the second annual Buku Project.

Day 2 was much different. We were asked about Lucy, bumped into Diplo at Kendrick Lamar, got silly with Calvin Harris and turned up by Major Lazer.  Our run-in with good ole boy Dips, added Mel and I to his sold after party at Republic and let's just say we were crunk fresh till 7am, like it was midnight! The word Buku means plenty in creole sang and this is all true. Buku gave me buku stories that made it buku entertaining.

Goodnight.

Throwback Thursday - My Lady Frida

She is my artistic inspiration. I love me some Kahlo so much that in 2010, I was "sexy" Frida for Halloween. Sorry, this is the only picture I could find of myself in that moment of glory. And yes, I had an unibrow.  Enjoy my throwback images. I like to keep it real with the throwing back!

Pre-Last Season but Still Good

Wow! Has it really been that long since I took these pictures? Times flies like a thief in the night. These images are so fun to scroll because its like walking through memory lane. The first bunch of pictures are from NYChristmas time. The boy in the dress, is my talented artist friend Robert. He wore this ensemble to his art opening in December. The going to tea time dress matched perfectly with his British accent. The next batch of pictures is from a Tasting Table event. If you ever get invited to a Tasting Table event - Go!  There party space is inviting, posh and comfortable. The TT team throw amazing parties that spare all the details, caters to the theme, and the ambiance is always fun.

After a few roll downs of the side bar, you reach my holiday Nola pics! Yes, how appropriate of me to add these photos as The Saints gear up for the 2012-2013 season. I seriously can't express enough how much I love the boys in black and gold. The Superdome is my second home. Every since I was a little girl, I would dress up in a black and gold trendy-catch phrase outfit, to cheer on for my home team. New Orleans football is like Sunday church, you always go to support, cheer, boo, scream, pray and dance in the house that makes it happen. The Superdome!!

Throw Back Thursday

I love this, throwing back on Thursday. I decided to keep it ole old supah ole skool. The first image is one of my favorite captures by photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt. Romantic, natural and very Americano. Taken in 1945, the color version showcases the emotion of a good solid kiss. The second image is of the penny pushing, aquarian twin Abe Lincoln. In color, his suit is looking sharp!! Brush the dirt of yo shoulder Abe - you lookin' fly! Lastly, the third picture is a throw back to my love of sunsets. I took this in line at Sleep No More. If you haven't gone - you should, its out there entertainment worth the random experience you participate in.

Blame It On The Rain.

Its one of those days where the yellow brick road has taking a 180 turn to Lameville. So, after some sulking in the AM, I had an awaking. The pitter patter of the rain made me think: "Yeah, well you're not the first. Thank you, its been fun."

Enjoy The Fakeness.

Hey, I Just Met You & This Is Crazy...Its Summer!! YAYA!

Fashion and outdoors make for some photogatheart moments. I know I've said this before but I love the summer months. People in the streets working fashion, the bright sun, the blue skies, the warm summer rain cooling you off.  Summer has just started and this year it's going to be HOT.
Enjoy.
